Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) has signed a landmark agreement with Texel Air to expand air cargo and MRO operations at Bahrain International Airport, said Jeffrey Goh, CEO, Gulf Air Group. The deal includes the development of a new 7,000 square metres Code C aircraft hangar and an additional 10,000 square metres of apron, maneouvering, and taxiway space, designed to support high-value cargo aircraft. The expansion strengthens Bahrain’s position as a key regional logistics hub, increasing its capacity to handle both scheduled and specialised cargo services. Texel Air will operate the new facility in a climate-controlled environment, enabling advanced freight maintenance. “Texel Air is a strategic partner that actively contributes to the air cargo and aviation ecosystem at Bahrain International Airport. Significantly, this expansion reflects investor confidence in the airport’s capability to support various services and operations,” he added.
