Turkish Cargo has introduced a new mobile application that allows ground teams to measure and verify ULD contours digitally using handheld devices. Developed by Turkish Technology, the image-based measurement tool replaces manual checks and helps staff quickly confirm whether a unit load device (ULD) is ready for loading.

The handheld application uses image technology to assess the shape and dimensions of cargo inside the ULD. This allows teams to detect irregularities early and ensure the load fits within the required contours before it is moved to the aircraft.

According to the company, the system has already completed more than 20,000 ULD contour checks with an accuracy rate of 99 percent. The digital process helps speed up decision-making and reduces the time spent on manual measurements during cargo handling.

By using mobile devices in the field, ground teams can continue working without interruptions and avoid delays that may occur during traditional checking methods. The technology also supports better use of aircraft capacity by ensuring cargo is loaded correctly. The new application is part of its wider push to digitise cargo operations. The airline continues to introduce digital tools aimed at making cargo handling faster, safer and more efficient across its network.
