UAE GCAA report highlights air cargo, logistics growth

The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has launched a new analytical series, ‘A closer look: Civil aviation in the UAE’, spotlighting the nation’s evolution as a global air cargo and logistics hub. According to GCAA data, the UAE handled 4.36 million tonnes of air cargo in 2024, ranking as the seventh-largest air cargo market worldwide. The series highlights the UAE’s integrated cargo ecosystem, including high-capacity international airports, advanced air navigation systems, specialised service providers and digital logistics solutions. Planning, modern infra and connectivity have enabled seamless freight movement across 304 airports in 109 countries, supporting e-commerce, high-value goods, perishables and industrial shipments. The reports aim to provide insights on air cargo trends and growth opportunities, reinforcing the UAE’s position as a leading regional and global logistics hub.
