UAE-Greece trade rises 13% as ties deepen

The UAE and Greece are set to strengthen trade and logistics links, with Greece serving as a key logistics hub and gateway to Eastern Europe. Bilateral trade between the two countries reached approximately US$300 million in the first half of 2026, up 13% year on year.
Greece’s maritime capabilities and transport links offer opportunities to improve connections between the UAE, Europe and wider international markets. Cooperation could also draw on Greek expertise in logistics, maritime transport and agriculture.
UAE Minister of Foreign Trade Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi highlighted Greece’s role in supporting regional trade and its potential to strengthen economic ties with the UAE.
The UAE plans to invest an additional US$15 billion in Greece over the next five to eight years. The investment will target sectors including hospitality, industry and infrastructure.
The plan builds on around US$4 billion invested by the UAE in Greece four years ago. A further 18 memoranda of understanding, worth a combined €12.7 billion, cover areas including real estate, healthcare and food.
