The UAE-Russia Trade in Services and Investment Agreement has entered into force, creating a framework to strengthen trade and investment in sectors including transport and logistics. The agreement comes as bilateral non-oil trade reached US$20.4 billion in 2025, up 77.7% from the previous year.

For the logistics sector, the agreement could support stronger links between the UAE and Russia by improving market access for transport and related services. Clearer rules for services trade and investment could also make cross-border operations more predictable and support wider trade flows between the two markets.

The agreement covers services and investment, complementing the UAE’s Economic Partnership Agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union, which focuses on trade in goods.

UAE Minister of Foreign Trade Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi said the agreement will deepen cooperation in priority sectors, including transport and logistics, while supporting long-term growth.

With Russia’s growing trade relationship with the UAE, the new framework could strengthen the role of the UAE as a regional link for trade between Russia and wider markets. It also adds to the UAE’s wider network of trade agreements supporting non-oil trade and supply chain connectivity.
