In its latest update following the UAE April 16 flash floods, Emirates SkyCargo stated, “We advise customers to utilise our tracking module on skycargo.com to stay updated on revised booking details. Due to inclement weather conditions in Dubai on April 16 and 17, Emirates SkyCargo is experiencing operational challenges, including flight cancellations and delays in cargo connections due to slow airport logistics.” According SkyCargo release, “We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused. Emirates SkyCargo is working hard to restore our scheduled operations, and our teams will provide all possible support to affected customers.” Although operations are getting back underway, flooding remains in areas of the airport and flights continue to be delayed and cancelled. This is causing a backlog for cargo as well.” Cargo operations in Dubai continue to face disruption as the rains that well on UAE had temporarily closed Dubai International Airport.
