Zhejiang firms eye Dubai logistics hub

China and Dubai are set to strengthen trade and logistics links, with Zhejiang province looking to expand its business presence in the emirate. The move is expected to create opportunities in cross-border logistics, e-commerce and regional distribution, supporting the movement of goods between Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Europe.
Chen Jianzhong, chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Zhejiang Provincial Committee, said Dubai’s location and established logistics network make it a key base for Chinese companies seeking to enter regional markets.
“China and Dubai enjoy a solid foundation for economic and trade cooperation,” he said, noting that China is Dubai’s largest trading partner.
Cooperation is increasingly extending beyond goods trade to industrial partnerships, investment and technology. Zhejiang has strengths in advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence, new energy vehicles and cross-border logistics, which align with Dubai’s economic priorities.
Stronger business links could support cargo flows and supply chains as more Zhejiang companies establish operations in Dubai. The Zhejiang committee will provide businesses with guidance on regulations, commercial certification and compliance to support their expansion into the emirate.
