AD Customs, Japan Customs seek ways to increase trade

His Excellency Rashed Lahej Al Mansoori, DG, Abu Dhabi Customs met with Yojiro Uchino, Deputy Director General of Customs and Tariff Bureau of Japan, to discuss facilitating trade, best practices in customs and bilateral cooperation. Uchino welcomed the DG, Abu Dhabi Customs and his delegation, reaffirming Japan Customs’ commitment to advancing bilateral customs cooperation. He emphasised the importance of openness and forward-thinking, highlighting Japan Customs’ vision for the future of customs operations, particularly AI. Uchino commended AD Customs for its digital innovation and noted that these collaborative efforts would further strengthen the growing partnership ahead of the anticipated signing of the Mutual Customs Assistance Agreement between Japan and the UAE.
