AJEX Logistics Services inaugurated Saudi Arabia’s first GMP-GxP certified logistics facility, marking a major milestone in the Kingdom’s healthcare and life sciences supply chain. Located in Riyadh, the purpose-built 3,000 square metre depot offers temperature-controlled storage and distribution, supporting the growing demand for compliant handling of pharmaceuticals and biologics.

The facility features multiple temperature zones, including a 2°C to 8°C chamber for refrigerated products such as vaccines and biologics, and a -20°C chamber for frozen items, such as cell therapies. Real-time monitoring, alert systems, and backup infrastructure ensure the integrity of sensitive healthcare products throughout storage and distribution.

A dedicated secondary labeling room allows country-specific packaging and documentation, including Arabic labeling, supporting just-in-time distribution and traceability. All processes adhere to international GxP standards and Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) regulations, with validated equipment, clean zones, and controlled access ensuring full compliance.

Justyna Lehmann, Senior Director Cold Chain & Healthcare at AJEX, highlighted that the facility provides global and local pharmaceutical companies with enhanced confidence to enter or expand in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region.

The Riyadh depot connects to AJEX’s last-mile network, integrating customs clearance, validated packaging, and regulatory support, offering end-to-end temperature-controlled logistics. This investment aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, reinforcing the Kingdom’s position as a regional hub for pharmaceutical manufacturing, clinical trials, and life sciences innovation.
