Amarak Chemicals FZC has launched a fully automated sulphur manufacturing facility at Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) in Dubai, aiming to strengthen supply chains for the global agriculture sector. The plant will produce up to 60,000 metric tonnes a year of sulphur bentonite and related products, using Jafza’s integrated logistics to ensure faster and more reliable delivery to international markets.
Abdulla Al Hashmi, COO, Parks & Zones, DP World GCC, “Jafza remains a leading hub for chemicals and agribusiness. Amarak Chemicals’ new sulphur facility strengthens supply chains and improves access to essential agricultural inputs, helping serve customers across the region and supporting efficient trade and logistics.”
The new facility leverages digital process controls to improve production efficiency, maintain product quality, and enhance operator safety. By centralising manufacturing in Dubai, Amarak can optimise transport routes and reduce logistics costs for exports to over 18 countries, including Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, and India. The India-UAE CEPA further allows duty-free exports to India, improving speed to market.
The facility will help meet growing demand for agricultural inputs that support soil health and crop productivity. Customers from seven countries have already shown interest in long-term supply contracts, highlighting the importance of reliable logistics and consistent supply in the region’s agribusiness trade.
Amarak’s investment at Jafza reflects the UAE’s role as a logistics and manufacturing hub, offering access to regional and global markets through world-class transport infrastructure. The facility strengthens Dubai’s position as a key center for chemical manufacturing and food supply chain support in the Middle East.
