Qatar is set to deepen its role in regional logistics with a new fine art storage and handling hub in Doha, a joint venture between GWC and strategy group QC+. The project, located in a designated free zone near Hamad International Airport, will serve private collectors, galleries, and institutions while strengthening Qatar’s position in the global cargo and logistics network.

The upcoming facility will include museum-grade preservation systems, conservation laboratories, and bonded storage areas, offering secure, climate-controlled environments for valuable artworks and cultural artefacts. Its strategic proximity to Hamad International Airport, one of the world’s busiest transit hubs, is expected to enhance Qatar’s air freight and handling capabilities for high-value cargo.

“With over 15 years of experience in fine art logistics and as the first Middle East-based company accredited by ICEFAT, GWC brings proven expertise to this partnership,” said Matthew Kearns, Acting Group CEO of GWC. “This project sets a new benchmark for integrated art logistics and high-value cargo handling in the region.”

The initiative supports Qatar’s National Vision 2030, which focuses on diversifying the economy through logistics and cultural industries. The hub will also contribute to developing local skills and knowledge in specialised freight management, blending art and commerce in a growing creative economy.
