Egypt-China trade reached approximately $20.8 billion in 2025, showing the growing scale of economic and supply chain links between the two countries. Chinese exports to Egypt stood at $19.9 billion, while Egyptian exports to China reached $819 million.

The trade relationship covers sectors such as industry, infrastructure, energy, transport, logistics and the digital economy, thus creating demand for stronger cargo and supply chain connections between the two markets.

Egypt is also looking to increase exports of food and agricultural products, textiles, chemicals, fertilisers, building materials, engineering goods and renewable energy products to China.

Abdel Aziz Elsherif, Head of the Egyptian Commercial Service said Egypt should also attract more Chinese investment into local production and use its logistics infrastructure and trade agreements to support exports to regional markets.

For the logistics sector, stronger two-way trade could increase cargo movement between Egypt and China and support demand for shipping, warehousing and related services. Improved trade procedures and logistics services could further support these flows.

Elsherif also called for stronger links between Egyptian and Chinese businesses to improve trade and supply chain cooperation.
