DP World has opened an 11,514-square-metre warehouse in Johor, Malaysia, as part of its plan to expand contract logistics capacity across Southeast Asia, supporting wider trade and supply chain links between Asia and the Middle East. The company will also open a second facility in Kuala Lumpur later this year, while new warehouses are planned in the Philippines and Thailand.

Located within the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone, the facility will handle warehousing and inbound logistics operations, supporting the movement of goods between Malaysia, Singapore and regional markets.

Jeanie Tan, Chief Commercial Officer, Logistics, Asia Pacific at DP World, said: "The opening of our warehouse in Johor marks an important step in strengthening our growing logistics footprint across Southeast Asia. As we continue to invest in strategic logistics assets across the region, and connecting them to our existing network of ports and terminals, we are enhancing our ability to deliver end-to-end supply chain solutions that help customers move goods more efficiently, reliably and resiliently. This facility will accelerate our Southeast Asia growth and build the capacity needed to support our customers' long-term success."

The expansion will give companies more warehousing options closer to major trade routes and improve links between ports, storage facilities and inland transport. This could help businesses manage inventory and cargo flows more efficiently, while providing additional capacity for supply chains operating across Southeast Asia.

The new facility is part of DP World’s wider contract logistics expansion in Asia Pacific. The company currently operates 16 ports and terminals across the region and is adding warehouses to connect port operations with air, ocean, less-than-container-load (LCL) and intermodal freight services.
