DP World partners with SHIFFT to advance autonomous logistics

Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) has partnered with DP World, the first strategic partner of self-driving logistics venture SHIFFT, to accelerate the development of autonomous logistics solutions. Established with autonomous vehicle technology company Oxa, SHIFFT operates under the Dubai Research, Development and Innovation Programme.

The partnership will focus on deploying autonomous technologies across industrial zones and logistics facilities, beginning at Jebel Ali. Solutions will cover vehicle integration, autonomous driving, fleet management, traffic management, route planning, safety frameworks and digital twin capabilities.

The initiative aims to improve operational efficiency and support the adoption of intelligent logistics systems in complex operating environments. DP World currently operates more than 900 vehicles at Jebel Ali for inter-terminal container movements and cargo transfers between operational areas. The solutions could eventually extend across DP World's global network of more than 60 facilities, supporting its long-term transition towards autonomous logistics operations.
