Egypt has opened a major expansion of the Kadmar International logistics centre in the Ain Sokhna Industrial Zone, adding new capacity to one of the region’s key logistics hubs serving Middle East and Red Sea trade lanes. The US$ 24 million expansion was opened by Mostafa Madbouly, Egyptian Prime Minister.

The upgraded facility spans 75,000 sqm and is designed to handle higher volumes of goods moving through the Red Sea corridor, supporting trade flows between the Middle East, North Africa and global markets.

The Ain Sokhna location connects industrial zones with nearby ports, allowing cargo to move more quickly between production sites and export terminals. The expansion is expected to support both import and export activity, particularly for cargo moving between the Middle East and African markets.

The project is also expected to create jobs, with around 340 new positions added. Following the expansion, the Kadmar logistics centre now spans about 110,000 square metres, with total investments reaching $35 million and storage capacity of up to 50,000 tonnes.
