Emirates SkyCargo boosts South America exports

Emirates SkyCargo has added seven weekly freighter flights to South America since March 2026, with exports from Argentina rising 57%, Brazil 22%, Colombia 18% and Ecuador 14% year on year in the first half of FY2026/27. The expansion is increasing cargo capacity for exporters across the region.
The carrier has added three weekly freighter flights to Buenos Aires, one to Bogota, two to Sao Paulo and one to Quito. The additional services support shipments of fresh flowers, fruit, meat, salmon and other perishables to international markets.
Since April 2024, Emirates SkyCargo has transported close to 80,000 tonnes of perishables from the four markets, including 66,000 tonnes of fresh flowers. The added capacity gives exporters more options to move time-sensitive goods while supporting supply chains linking South America with customers worldwide.
Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President of Emirates SkyCargo, said: “Since April this year, we have transported more than 22,000 tonnes of export cargo from our South American markets, a growth of 18% over the volumes carried during the same period in the previous year.”
The carrier plans to operate 23 dedicated freighters by the end of March 2027, expanding its capacity to serve global cargo demand.
