Jordan and China are looking to expand trade cooperation by improving export opportunities, strengthening supply chain links, and supporting investment in key industries. Bilateral trade figures show the scale of the relationship, with Jordan importing goods worth JD4.18 billion from China last year, while exports to China reached JD268 million.
The two countries are exploring ways to increase trade flows across sectors including pharmaceuticals, food industries, fertilisers, potash, and phosphate. Greater cooperation is expected to support smoother movement of goods, improve market access, and create stronger supply chain connections between Jordan and China.
Guo Wei, Chinese Ambassador to Jordan China is interested in expanding cooperation with Jordan in industrial, energy, infrastructure, water, and digital economy sectors. He added that the Chinese Embassy would support stronger links between business communities and encourage more Jordanian exports to China.
Joint production and technology partnerships could help strengthen industrial capacity and support regional supply chains. With Jordan’s strategic location and trade links with regional markets, increased cooperation with China could help businesses develop new export channels and improve connectivity between Asian and Middle Eastern markets.
