Jordan-Kenya trade hits US$54m

Jordan’s exports to Kenya reached around US$54 million in the first five months of 2026, up sharply from US$2 million a year earlier, highlighting stronger trade flows between the Middle East and East Africa. Jordan Chamber of Industry (JCI) President Fathi Jaghbir said the sharp increase in exports reflects growing economic ties between the two countries and points to further potential for Jordanian companies in the Kenyan market.
Pharmaceuticals, garments, chemicals and food products are among the main Jordanian sectors with potential to expand exports to Kenya. Kenyan exports to Jordan include tea, flowers, fresh produce, meat, livestock, grains, pulses, coffee and nuts.
The wider trade flow could create more demand for freight and logistics services, particularly for agricultural products and other time-sensitive cargo. Kenya’s business sector also has activities in agricultural logistics, providing scope for stronger links across the supply chain.
The growth in Jordanian exports comes as companies seek more direct trade connections and access to new markets. Stronger movement of goods between the two countries could also increase opportunities for freight forwarders, transport providers and other logistics companies supporting cross-border trade. The two markets are also looking to expand trade in construction materials, engineering services and pharmaceuticals, which could further diversify cargo flows between Jordan and Kenya.
