Jordan and Tunisia have launched a new initiative to strengthen trade flows, logistics links and supply chain connectivity between the two countries, aiming to improve movement of goods and expand access to wider regional markets.

The plan focuses on making trade between the two sides easier by improving transport links, reducing bottlenecks and sharing information on markets and regulations. Jordan is expected to support access to Mashreq markets, while Tunisia will help connect Jordanian firms to North Africa and African supply chains.

A key part of the initiative is improving logistics efficiency, including smoother movement of shipments, better coordination between private sector players and stronger transport connectivity. This is expected to reduce delays and support more stable cross-border supply chains.

Both countries also plan to reactivate their Joint Business Council to support trade coordination and investment-linked logistics projects. It will work on resolving trade issues and improving business-to-business cooperation.

Khalil Hajj Tawfiq, President, Jordan Chamber of Commerce, said Jordan’s strategic location, trade agreements and infrastructure position it as a regional hub for business, logistics and re-export activities, creating opportunities for wider regional partnerships.

Officials also discussed building a shared database on trade rules, supply chains and investment opportunities. This is aimed at helping companies plan sourcing, distribution and regional logistics partnerships more effectively across both markets.
