Kuwait intends to invite foreign companies at an international auction to Build and Operate a cargo village it is planning to construct near its airport. Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) officials have requested the Finance Ministry to approve the project involving design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the facility. The cargo village will be built on a sprawling site West of Kuwait’s International Airport and is part of a master plan to develop the logistics industry in the emirate, they said. The need to adopt alternative fuels, energy-efficient aircraft, and operational improvements to boost sustainability. In addition, a safer medium to transport lithium batteries is needed as their demand grows globally. They called for a focused effort to showcase the air cargo industry as a dynamic and promising career option for young talent and invest in advanced training and development programs.
