Two new bridges connecting Al Reem Island to the Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Highway have opened, making it easier for trucks and freight vehicles to move between the island, ports, and highways. A special freight U-turn bridge between Zayed Port and Saadiyat Island allows cargo trucks to reach major roads directly, cutting travel times and reducing congestion.

The bridges can carry thousands of vehicles per hour, which helps goods move faster from ports to warehouses, distribution centers, and markets. Logistics companies can now plan deliveries more efficiently, with fewer delays on city streets. This also helps maintain steady supply chains for businesses relying on timely shipments.

By shifting heavy trucks to the new bridges, traffic on smaller roads is lighter, making it safer for all vehicles and pedestrians. Ports and freight operators benefit from smoother routes, which allows more shipments to move through Abu Dhabi each day.

Overall, the new bridges strengthen the city’s trade and logistics network, connecting ports, highways, and commercial hubs. Businesses can move goods more reliably, trucks spend less time on the road, and the flow of supplies across Abu Dhabi and the region becomes faster and more predictable.
