Abu Dhabi is moving ahead with new autonomous logistics projects to improve the way goods are transported across the city. The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) announced 29 commercial agreements, covering drones, self-driving vehicles, and robotics-powered warehouses. These projects involve companies, such as Aramex, Talabat, Noon, EMX, PureLab, Sinaha, Autologix, and LODD Autonomous.
The initiatives focus on key areas such as e-commerce deliveries, healthcare logistics, and heavy goods transport. Autonomous ground vehicles and drones are already being tested to move parcels, medical samples, and mail efficiently. Intelligent warehouses using robotics and AI help sort and store goods faster, reducing delays, and improving reliability. Level 4 autonomous cargo vehicles, which operate without a driver, are being introduced for major logistics routes, making city deliveries safer and more efficient.
The Smart and Autonomous Systems Council (SASC) coordinates infrastructure, rules, and industry standards, ensuring that these autonomous solutions can operate safely and effectively. By combining technology across air, ground, and industrial logistics, Abu Dhabi is creating a smarter, more sustainable cargo system. These steps not only speed up the movement of goods but also support trade growth, reduce costs, and lower emissions. Abu Dhabi is positioning itself as a global leader in autonomous logistics, showing how innovation can transform supply chains and improve cargo operations.
