Oman and Sudan have signed an agreement to boost cooperation in logistics and supply chain operations. The focus areas include ports, maritime transport, railways, and the exchange of technical information to improve how goods are moved and managed between the two countries.

The deal aims to make logistics systems more connected by improving coordination between transport authorities in both countries. This includes sharing operational data and expertise across air, sea, and rail networks to support smoother cargo movement and better planning.

Eng. Saeed bin Hamoud Al Maawali, Oman’s Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, said the agreement reflects efforts to deepen cooperation in transport and logistics and improve integration between the two countries’ systems.

Both sides will also work on improving the use of transport facilities and equipment where needed, helping to strengthen efficiency in port and shipping operations. Better coordination is expected to reduce delays and improve handling of cargo flows linked to regional trade.

The agreement also supports closer communication between logistics institutions in Oman and Sudan. This is expected to improve decision-making in supply chain operations and create more structured cooperation in transport corridors.
