Saudi Arabia has announced that the Port of NEOM is now fully operational, handling global cargo through an integrated system that connects sea, land and road transport. The port is moving shipments from Europe, the Americas, Asia and GCC countries, with goods flowing into Gulf markets including the UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Iraq and Egypt through combined shipping, trucking and ferry routes.

The key development is the multimodal logistics corridor, which links maritime operations with road and ferry networks. This allows cargo to be transferred directly from ships to trucks and onward to regional destinations, thus cutting down transit time and improving movement of goods across borders.

The system is designed to make supply chains faster and more reliable by reducing delays and offering alternative routes for time-sensitive cargo. It also helps balance trade flows by easing pressure on traditional shipping routes.
