SAL Logistics Services has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Microsoft Arabia to explore the use of artificial intelligence, cloud technology and data analytics in its logistics operations.
The collaboration will focus on identifying digital solutions that can improve operational efficiency and customer experience, while supporting SAL’s digital transformation plans. The companies will also look at potential AI and data applications across SAL’s operations.
For the logistics sector, greater use of these technologies could help companies process operational data more effectively, improve decision-making and develop digital tools for supply chain management. Cloud-based systems and data analytics can also support more connected logistics operations and help identify areas where processes can be improved.
The MoU also covers digital solutions that could support sustainability initiatives. SAL and Microsoft will work to identify specific areas where their technology and logistics expertise can be combined. The partnership supports efforts to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s logistics capabilities and its ambition to become a global logistics hub under Vision 2030.
