Qatar and Uzbekistan are set to explore new trade and investment opportunities focused on improving supply chains, logistics links, and cross-border movement of goods between the Gulf and Central Asia. The plan includes wider cooperation between businesses and easier access for companies to operate in both markets.
The initiative aims to increase trade flows by improving how goods move across sectors such as manufacturing, services, and industrial products. Better logistics coordination is expected to support faster movement of cargo and reduce delays in supply chains between the two regions.
Stronger links are also expected to help companies expand their distribution networks, especially for goods moving through Gulf hubs into Central Asian markets and vice versa. This could improve connectivity for regional trade routes and support more stable shipping and transport flows.
His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Faisal Al-Thani, Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZ) said the development is expected to encourage more use of Qatar’s logistics infrastructure, including free zones, for storage, re-export, and regional distribution. This can help businesses manage supply chains more efficiently and reach wider markets.
