King Salman International Airport in Riyadh is set to become a major logistics hub. The airport plans to handle over 2 million tons of cargo a year by 2030. It will have six runways, three new terminals, and logistics zones covering about 3 million square metres. The airport signed seven memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with Saudi real-estate developers—Sumou Holding, Mohammed Al Habib Investment, Kinan, Ajdan, Retal, Urjuan, and Osus to build mixed-use projects within its 57 sq km area.
The new zones are designed to connect cargo, trade, and industrial activities with commercial and residential areas. This will help businesses operate more efficiently and make the airport a key center for logistics in the region.
Alongside cargo and logistics facilities, the developments will include offices, retail, residential communities, and hospitality spaces. The aim is to create a well-connected area where people and businesses can work, live, and transport goods easily.
King Salman International Airport is part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 plan to diversify the economy and boost trade. Once complete, it will strengthen Riyadh’s position as a global logistics and aviation hub, supporting the growth of cargo, transport, and supply chains across the Kingdom and beyond.
