Saudi Arabia has introduced a sea-to-air logistics corridor linking western ports to airports, allowing cargo to move faster and more reliably across the Kingdom. The corridor will help logistics operators reduce transit times, streamline customs processing, and manage supply chains for domestic and international shipments.

Maritime shipments can now be transferred directly onto aircraft, using ports and airports as connected hubs. Cargo moves under a single customs declaration, supported by pre-clearance checks and streamlined inspections. This reduces handling time, lowers delays, and makes planning more predictable for businesses and freight operators.

The first route, starting with Jeddah Islamic Port, is already operational. ZATCA coordinates the process, ensuring smooth customs procedures and integration between seaport and airport operations. Companies can redirect shipments quickly when needed, maintain delivery schedules, and respond efficiently to changing transport patterns.

By combining sea and air transport with coordinated road links, the corridor provides a flexible, reliable network. It allows logistics providers to optimize costs, speed up cargo movement, and support smoother trade flows. The initiative strengthens Saudi Arabia’s logistics network, giving the sector tools to keep supply chains moving effectively.
