talabat has partnered with advanced technology company K2 to launch a pilot drone delivery service in the UAE, aiming to speed up food and grocery deliveries, cut emissions, and improve logistics in busy urban areas. The agreement will test a drone-to-station model, where drones transport orders to designated points before riders complete the final handover. The
move signals a major step in exploring autonomous delivery solutions for one of the region’s busiest delivery networks.
“Innovation is at the core of how we evolve the last-mile experience,” said Mayank Khaitan, Director, Logistics, talabat. “Our partnership with K2 allows us to explore autonomous delivery capabilities that make operations smarter, safer, and more efficient.” The pilot will examine how drones can support last-mile operations, reduce congestion, and boost efficiency during peak demand. If successful, the model could help talabat shorten delivery times and reduce the environmental footprint of its logistics network.
Waleed AlBlooshi, Vice President, Strategy, K2, added, “By integrating drone delivery into K2’s smart-city ecosystem, we’re proving that autonomy is no longer a concept—it is a real service that improves daily life.” The initiative promises to support the UAE’s push toward intelligent mobility and future-ready logistics.
