Turkish Cargo has renewed its IATA CEIV Pharma, CEIV Fresh and CEIV Live Animals certifications after successfully completing an International Air Transport Association (IATA) assessment. The certifications will remain valid until 2029, confirming the airline meets global standards for transporting pharmaceuticals, perishable goods and live animals.

The renewal supports customers that move temperature-sensitive and high-value cargo by ensuring internationally recognised handling standards across the supply chain. It also helps improve reliability, quality control and compliance, which are becoming increasingly important as demand for specialised cargo continues to grow.

Ali Türk, Chief Cargo Officer of Turkish Airlines, said, “Pharmaceuticals and healthcare products, perishable cargo, and live animal shipments are among the cargo types that require the highest level of operational sensitivity. For this reason, we continuously invest not only in our transportation processes but also in our infrastructure, technological capabilities, and human resources. In this regard, the renewal of our IATA CEIV certifications is of great importance, as it once again confirms at an international level the standards we have achieved in special cargo operations and our expertise in this field. As Turkish Cargo, we will continue to be a logistics solution partner that is trusted and preferred by stakeholders in the air cargo ecosystem.”

Turkish Cargo first received the CEIV Pharma certification in 2016 and became the first airline to hold CEIV Pharma, CEIV Fresh and CEIV Live Animals certifications at the same time in 2020. The carrier said it currently operates a pharmaceutical network covering more than 200 stations and plans to further expand its special cargo capacity through its SMARTIST 2.0 project.
