UAE to increase logistics sector’s value to Dh200 billion by 2030

The UAE plans to increase the logistics sector’s value to Dh200 billion (US$54.45 billion) annually by 2030 and plans to enhance its status as a global trade hub. To this end, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, launched the Emirates Council for Logistics Integration, tasked with strengthening roads, rail, ports, and customs to boost global trade. The announcement was made during a UAE Cabinet meeting at Qasr Al Watan, Abu Dhabi, where Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum emphasised the UAE’s vision to lead global trade through enhanced logistics coordination and innovation. As per UAE Media Office, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum remarked, “The council will bring together all key federal and local entities, including ports, roads, transport, customs, railways and border crossings, ensuring efficiency and synergy in the sector. With the logistics industry valued at Dh129 billion in 2023, our goal is to push it beyond Dh200 billion over the next seven years, reinforcing the UAE’s role as a central hub for global trade and commerce.”
