UPS confirms that it will acquire Frigo-Trans, a Germany-based logistics firm to enhance the productivity of its healthcare cold-chain facilities. It will also take possession of BPL, which is the sister company of Frigo-Trans. The deal is set to be closed by the end of the first quarter of 2025. Frigo-Trans network includes temperature-controlled warehousing and freight forwarding utilities, along with cold chain transportation solution pan-Europe. “The fast-paced innovation in the pharmaceutical industry is creating the need to have more integrated cold and frozen supply chains. Frigo-Trans will help deepen our portfolio of solutions for our customers and accelerate our journey to become the number one complex healthcare logistics provider in the world addressing their needs”, Kate Gutmann, EVP and President of International Healthcare and Supply Chain Solutions, UPS, said.
