Abu Dhabi Chamber, Siemens boost supply chain visibility

Abu Dhabi Chamber and Siemens have signed an MoU to support digital traceability, smart manufacturing and supply chain readiness for companies in Abu Dhabi. The agreement includes work on the Digital Product Passport, which is aimed at helping businesses meet changing requirements for product data, sustainability and market access.

The cooperation will cover knowledge sharing, training and possible pilot projects on digital product tracking. Better access to product information can help companies improve visibility across supply chains and prepare goods for international markets.

For logistics and trade operators, digital traceability can support the movement of products across borders by providing clearer information on origin, sustainability and other product details. It can also help businesses respond to new requirements from overseas markets and global supply chains.

Ali Mohamed Al Marzooqi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Chamber, said: “Digital transformation has become an integrated pathway to raising productivity, improving resource efficiency, strengthening business resilience and opening new opportunities for growth and market expansion.”

The MoU also covers automation, energy and resource efficiency, decarbonisation and technology development. The partners will explore cooperation with industrial companies and other businesses in Abu Dhabi through workshops, forums and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
