Alexandria Port Authority, Hassan Allam Utilities and Al-Tarek Group have signed an agreement for a proposed 273,008-square-metre logistics centre at El-Dekheila Port in Egypt, adding to the development of logistics infrastructure serving Middle Eastern and international trade. The facility will provide storage, distribution, re-export, cargo processing and light manufacturing services for regional and international markets.

The centre is expected to expand the port’s role beyond cargo handling by adding services that help prepare goods for distribution and re-export. This could improve supply chain efficiency and provide exporters and importers with more logistics options.

Egypt’s Transport Minister Kamel El-Wazir said the project would create investment opportunities and strengthen the port’s ability to attract international trade.

The development forms part of Egypt’s plan to expand port activities and improve the country’s position in Eastern Mediterranean trade. By linking cargo handling with distribution and other value-added services, the centre is expected to support trade flows and connect Egyptian ports more closely with global supply chains. The proposed facility would be located in the port’s western hinterland, serving regional and international markets.
