Abu Dhabi Customs, QCC to ease cargo clearance

Abu Dhabi Customs and the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (QCC) will exchange foreign trade data from customs ports to support the movement and clearance of goods across the emirate. The agreement will allow the two entities to share customs and product information through electronic channels.

The data exchange is expected to help customs and quality authorities process goods more efficiently, improve product checks and ensure shipments meet safety and regulatory requirements. Better access to trade information can also help identify goods that require inspection and support quicker decisions during clearance.

For importers and exporters, closer data sharing could make the movement of goods through customs more streamlined. It can also reduce delays linked to product conformity checks and improve coordination between the authorities responsible for clearing and checking shipments.

The agreement covers joint work in research and advisory services, as well as training and technical knowledge sharing. These measures are intended to strengthen procedures linked to imported and exported goods.

The MoU was signed by Obaid Musallem Al Ameri, Acting Director General of Abu Dhabi Customs, and Abdulla Ahmed Al Yazeedi, Acting Secretary General of QCC.
