In conversation with CargoTalk TV, Vijayan Perumal, Director Airfreight, Alsi Global emphasised on the importance of AI (Technology) in the cargo sector, and how Dubai has risen as a cargo hub in the middle east. “Developing strong relationships with partners have made this industry boom further. The more networks you have the better. AI has transformed the industry today as everything has become much faster than the manual days where more time was spent on documentation. Today, there is more time to develop the business with the use of technology. Dubai is the key hub with the sea- air models as well as air-to-air model, mainly because a lot of direct flights which connect across a vast network. There are more opportunities in the air freight industry with automation which will see many changes over the next few years,”, he said.
