UAE-based AirQ Limited is working on new ways to move cargo through the air using unmanned aircraft. The company recently revealed two of its latest projects, Cargo 200 and Cargo 40, both designed to handle different cargo needs with more flexibility.
One of the biggest strengths of these aircraft is how they take off and land. They can lift straight up from the ground and then smoothly shift into forward flight. This makes them useful in areas where there are no runways, such as remote sites or crowded industrial zones.
According to David Sostaric, Programme Manager at AirQ, the Cargo 200 can fly up to 450 kilometres while carrying heavier cargo. The Cargo 40 is smaller and lighter, but offers a longer flying range. Together, they give operators more options depending on distance, payload, and mission type.
The aircraft can also be customised for different tasks. Their cargo layouts and systems can be adjusted to match specific operational needs. A notable design feature is the use of just four rotors for vertical take-off, setting them apart from many other unmanned cargo aircraft. They are hybrid-powered, lightweight, and built to deliver strong performance, helping AirQ offer practical and efficient cargo solutions.
