BAS enters KSA market, expands handling operations

Bahrain Airport Services (BAS) is entering Saudi Arabia’s aviation market with ground handling operations, aiming to support growing airport activity and rising demand for technical airport services in the Kingdom. The move is expected to strengthen ground operations capacity in the region and improve efficiency in aircraft turnaround and airport handling processes.
The company will base its Saudi operations in the Eastern Province and plans to use experience gained from its long-running operations at Bahrain International Airport. Its services will include aircraft handling, ramp support, and operational coordination at airports. BAS is also exploring further expansion opportunities in Oman, including maintenance and inspection-related services.
Saudi Arabia’s aviation sector is undergoing expansion with new infrastructure and increased airport activity. This has created demand for established service providers that can support complex ground operations and maintain international standards.
BAS said it is working on securing operating rights at multiple airports rather than focusing on a single location. It is also looking at partnerships with regional aviation stakeholders to support its entry and operations.
