As per research conducted by DHL Global Forwarding, air freight volumes continued to remain low in June this year. High inventories and lower purchase power contributed to comparatively low demand. Another change is that major economies are likely to show resilience against high inflation. Sufficient capacity for current volume levels, belly capacity continued to improve as passenger travel has increased. Global capacity is 14 per cent higher than last year, showing no significant backlogs. Most airlines have available capacity at hand, absorbing low yields amidst lean volumes.
