Turkish Cargo has started new cargo flights between Chengdu and Istanbul, in partnership with Air China Cargo. The flights run three times a week and are operated by Air China Cargo. The move adds a new link between western China and Türkiye, using Istanbul as a transfer point for goods moving to other regions.

The new route helps improve cargo movement from Chengdu, which is an important manufacturing and technology centre in China. With regular flights, shipments can move faster and with more predictability. This is useful for goods that need quick delivery, such as electronics, machinery parts, and e-commerce items.

For the wider cargo sector, this route gives more options for moving goods between Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. Istanbul’s role as a hub becomes stronger, as cargo can be transferred there and sent to different destinations on connecting flights. This can help reduce transit time compared to longer or indirect routes.

The partnership also shows how airlines are working together to expand networks without adding their own aircraft on every route. Such collaborations can help improve capacity and keep cargo supply chains running smoothly.
