CJ Logistics has launched a new Saudi Global Distribution Centre (GDC) in Riyadh to strengthen e-commerce delivery across the Middle East. The 20,000-sq-metre facility, located in the Riyadh Special Integrated Logistics Zone at King Khalid International Airport, can process up to 20,000 parcels daily. It will serve as a regional hub, handling shipments within Saudi Arabia and to neighboring countries including the UAE, Kuwait, and Qatar. The center uses advanced automation technologies, including multi-shuttle and “order-to-person” systems, to speed up processing, reduce manual labor, and ensure faster, more accurate deliveries.

Jonathan Song, head of CJ Logistics’ Global Business Division, said, “We will operate the Saudi GDC as a strategic hub connecting the Middle East. By leveraging our top-tier operational expertise and technological capabilities, we aim to enhance cross-border logistics services and accelerate the globalization of K-logistics.”

The Saudi GDC is modeled on CJ Logistics’ successful Incheon GDC in South Korea, which introduced large-scale automation to streamline e-commerce shipments across the Asia-Pacific. The Riyadh hub marks a significant step in the company’s expansion in the Middle East, offering advanced storage, packaging, and customs clearance for cross-border parcels. Experts say the hub will help reduce delivery times, cut costs, and improve supply chain efficiency for businesses in the region.
