CMD partners with Dronamics to develop Black Swan cargo drone

EDGE Group entity CMD has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with aerospace company Dronamics to evaluate advanced propulsion solutions for its Black Swan cargo drone, supporting the development of autonomous air freight capabilities.

Under the agreement, the two companies will assess options ranging from integrating and modifying existing CMD engines to developing an entirely new propulsion system for the cargo drone. The collaboration will also cover aerospace certification, serial manufacturing and through-life engine support.

The Black Swan platform is designed for long-range, high-payload autonomous cargo delivery, targeting commercial logistics applications. The partnership aims to identify a suitable propulsion system to support the platform's operational requirements and future production.
