DP World has secured IATA certification across 11 air freight forwarding locations in the US and Mexico, strengthening cargo links through key North American gateways and supporting trade flows between the region and markets including the Middle East.

The certification covers operations in Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Newark, El Paso, Mexico City and Monterrey. It recognises standards covering operational performance, financial accountability and professional competence.

For shippers, the wider certified network can support more consistent handling of time-sensitive cargo and smoother coordination with airline partners. It also links air freight with DP World’s ocean, road, customs, warehousing and contract logistics services, giving cargo moving between markets greater coordination across different transport modes.

Joseph Fordney, Senior Vice President of Freight Forwarding for DP World in the Americas, said: “Customers increasingly want a single logistics partner that can move cargo seamlessly across air, ocean, and inland transportation while meeting the highest global standards for quality, compliance, and operational performance.”

DP World said the certification is part of its wider expansion of freight forwarding operations across the Americas. Its Montreal operation is expected to gain IATA certification in 2027.
