DP World and Abu Dhabi-based agribusiness Al Dahra have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore joint projects in food supply chains and agricultural logistics across the GCC and global markets. The plan includes possible development of storage, transport, and distribution systems for food products, as well as investments in logistics hubs and free zone operations.

The agreement comes as the GCC continues to depend heavily on food imports, with the UAE importing most of its food needs. This makes supply chain stability and efficiency an important focus for both governments and private companies in the region.

Yuvraj Narayan, Group CEO, DP World, said, “By combining our logistics capabilities with Al Dahra’s agribusiness expertise, we aim to deliver innovative solutions that support food security and economic growth across the region and beyond.”

The two companies will look at building integrated systems that connect farming, sourcing, and logistics. This includes cold chain infrastructure for perishable goods such as fruits, vegetables, grains, and processed food items. These systems are aimed at reducing delays and improving handling of sensitive products.

The partnership also includes plans to improve global sourcing routes from regions such as Africa, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and the Americas. This is expected to help diversify supply sources and reduce dependence on limited trade corridors.

In addition, DP World and Al Dahra will explore digital tools such as tracking systems and logistics platforms to improve transparency and efficiency in food movement. They will also review regulatory alignment, including customs and food safety processes, to support smoother cross-border trade across the region.
