DP World Egypt has completed a historic week at Ain Sokhna Port, executing three major maritime operations that underline the port’s rising influence in energy, industrial cargo, and tourism logistics. First, the Energos Eskimo, a Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU), docked for technical upgrades ahead of injecting natural gas into Egypt’s national grid, boosting national energy resilience. Next, Sokhna handled Egypt’s largest-ever iron ore shipment, as the Berge Kuju delivered 180,008 tonnes from Brazil for Ezz Steel. The operation showcased the port’s capacity to manage heavy industrial imports efficiently, with high-capacity cranes and deep-water berths enabling rapid discharge. Finally, the Aroya cruise ship returned on its second scheduled visit, carrying 2,300 passengers, highlighting Sokhna’s growing footprint in regional cruise tourism. These milestones reflect DP World’s commitment to transforming Sokhna into a fully integrated logistics hub. With the US$ 80 million Sokhna Logistics Park nearing completion, the port is primed to drive Egypt’s multimodal growth across energy, manufacturing, and trade.
