DP World invests US$80mn in Sokhna Logistics Park

DP World will invest US$80 million to develop a logistics park spanning 300,000 square metres in Ain Sokhna. The first phase, linking the port with the operator’s logistical services, will be completed by this year-end. The announcement was made during the New Generation Initiative from the new urban areas, under the auspices of the President of Egypt. The initiative aligns with DP World’s strategy to support economic growth in Egypt. The company has opened logistics offices in Cairo, Alexandria, Cairo Airport, Beni Sweif, and Ain Sokhna. Trade between the UAE and Egypt increased by 6.5 per cent to US$4.60 billion in 2023. “DP World invests in young people by providing them with training and direct work experiences to connect emerging markets with global trade routes and support supply chains,” Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman and CEO, DP World, said.
