DP World-Mawani set up SAR900 mn logistics park

DP World and Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) have initiated construction of a SAR900 million (US$250 million) logistics park at Jeddah Islamic Port. To be established as the largest integrated logistics park in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, this 415,000 sq. mts., facility is designed with sustainability in mind. The facility will feature a rooftop solar plant generating 20MW of renewable energy. Expected to be completed in Q4 2024, this modernisation will increase handling capacity to five million TEUs. Jeddah Logistics Park will be developed in two phases, with a planned opening in Q2 2025. The logistics park will include 185,000 square meters of warehouse space and a versatile storage yard, accommodating over 390,000 pallet positions. “The Kingdom has been an important market for DP World, and this milestone represents our ongoing commitment to the KSA,” said Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman and CEO, DP World. The facility, located on the crucial Asia-Europe shipping route, will enhance multimodal connectivity and market access, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030, he added.
