DP World unveiled three new major sites in Romania, a €136 million investment, including €65 million project cargo terminal, a roll-on, roll-off terminal in Constanta, and a €21 million intermodal logistics hub in Aiud, Rashid Abdulla, CEO and Managing Director, DP World Europe, said. These developments aim to bolster connectivity between DP World’s Sea, rail, barge, and truck services across Romania, facilitating the movement of goods between mainland Europe and the Black, North, and Adriatic Seas. The company has invested over €250 million in Romania since 2004. An increase of around two million tonnes in cargo flows annually is projected through the country, thereby reinforcing Constanta’s position as a vital container and RO-RO hub in Central and Eastern Europe, Cosmin Carstea, CEO, DP World Romania, highlighted. DP Worl’s expansion in Romania aligns with its broader strategy across Europe to enhance capacity and provide integrated, sustainable, and resilient supply chain solutions.
