DSV has completed a time-critical oversized cargo transport operation in Kuwait, moving seven massive autoclaves, each around 34 metres long and weighing over 65 tonnes, along with other heavy industrial equipment, from port to site within 96 hours, said Ali Farhat, Director, Country Manager, Road, Kuwait. The complex road move was carried out despite restricted night movements, permit coordination, heavy rain, and difficult ground conditions.

“This project reflects the dedication, discipline, and teamwork of our road operations in Kuwait. Executing such a complex move, while maintaining safety and precision shows how our teams step up to challenges and deliver with confidence,” said Ali Farhat.

The cargo also included a ball mill and a steam boiler, all requiring specialised multi-axle trailers and careful handling due to their size and weight. Detailed route planning and technical checks were carried out to ensure the equipment could move safely through local roads.

Limited availability of suitable heavy-haul assets in the local market added pressure to the operation. DSV’s road transport team engineered a tailored solution, focusing on precise equipment positioning and controlled movement at every stage.

Safety teams were present throughout the operation at both the port and the project site, monitoring each step of the move and installation. The cargo was also erected at the site once delivery was completed. The operation highlights the increasing demand in Kuwait for specialised road transport to support large industrial and manufacturing projects, where oversized and overweight cargo must be moved quickly and safely under challenging conditions.

Khalifa Bin Salman Port continues to expand its capacity, handling larger shipments and more frequent cargo traffic. The Express Air Cargo Village is also seeing increased activity, helping businesses move goods faster and more efficiently. The Bahrain Logistics Zone is attracting international companies, offering modern warehousing, distribution, and transport facilities. These developments are creating stronger links with global markets and boosting trade across the Gulf region.
