DSV to introduce electric cargo vehicles in Riyadh

EVIQ, Hala Auto and DSV are joining forces to introduce electric cargo vehicles into DSV’s operations in Riyadh, combining vehicle supply, charging infrastructure and logistics operations to support the shift towards lower-emission transport.
The partnership will see Hala Auto supply electric cargo vans and trucks suited to DSV’s needs, while EVIQ develops dedicated charging facilities at DSV’s depots and provides access to its wider charging network.
The move could help logistics operators address two key challenges in adopting electric vehicles: access to suitable commercial vehicles and reliable charging facilities. Bringing these together could also make the transition easier to manage and help reduce operating costs through lower fuel use and maintenance expenses.
The initiative supports Saudi Arabia’s wider efforts to reduce emissions and develop more sustainable transport solutions. It also provides a model for other logistics companies considering electric fleets, where vehicle availability, charging access and daily operating needs must be planned together.
Mohammad Gazzaz, CEO of EVIQ, said, "The transition to electric fleets requires more the right charging infrastructure that is designed around how businesses operate. Our collaboration with Hala Auto and DSV brings together dedicated charging infrastructure, fleet solutions and logistics expertise to create a practical pathway for fleet electrification. We see this as an important step in supporting the growth of electrified logistics in Saudi Arabia.”
